How to play

How to play Jungle Draft

Draft a squad of animals, pick a tactic, and take them through leagues and cups. Here is everything that decides a match, from the draft to the final whistle.

The draft

Building your squad

The draft is how you build a team. You and an AI opponent take turns in a snake draft of 40 picks, 20 each, and after the first pick turns alternate in pairs to keep it fair. You can draft up to three teams, one of each type. Re-drafting a team resets it completely, so its players, XP and evolved stars are gone.

Choose a team type

Land, water or sky. Each has its own pool of animals and its own home biomes. You can draft all three.

The team type picker: Land, 95 animals; Water, 95 animals; Sky, 81 animals

Snake-draft 20 players

You and an AI manager take turns across 40 picks. After the first pick, turns alternate in pairs so neither side runs away with the best animals.

Pick your starting 11

Your best 11 take the field and the other 9 are depth for injuries and suspensions. Formation and tactics are yours to set.

Three teams to draft

Land, water and sky

Every animal belongs to one team type, and every stadium sits in a biome that suits some animals more than others. A penguin back line feels at home in the Arctic and out of place in the desert.

LAND95 animals

Lions, elephants, cheetahs, gorillas and more. Strong in grassland, savanna and temperate biomes.

WATER95 animals

Dolphins, sharks, crocodiles and penguins. At their best on the coast, in wetlands and in the Arctic, and always at home in the Ocean stadium.

SKY81 animals

Eagles, hawks, owls, bats and flying squirrels. Dominant in highlands, tropical and arid biomes.

Attributes

What each rating means

Every animal is rated from 0 to 100 on seven attributes.

AttributeWhat it measures
SpeedRaw pace and acceleration
StrengthPhysical power and resistance
AgilityBalance and quick direction changes
StaminaEnergy and endurance
AerialHeading ability and jumping
ReachPhysical range and wingspan
IQGame intelligence and decision making

Player types

Eight ways to play

Each animal has one player type, which adds a bonus on top of its attributes.

TypeRoleEffect

Speed DemonLightning fast+25% to win sprints, devastating on counters.
TitanPhysically dominant in duels+15% to physical duels, harder to dispossess.

Biomes

Ten stadiums, ten climates

Every match is played in a stadium with a biome. Animals playing in their home biome play at full strength, and visitors lose a little depending on how far the climate is from their own. Evolution stars and shields reduce the penalty.

StadiumClimate
Temperate StadiumMild climate with seasons
Grassland StadiumOpen plains with tall grasses
Savanna StadiumTropical grassland with scattered trees
Arid StadiumHot and dry desert terrain
Tropical StadiumHot, humid rainforest
Highlands StadiumHigh altitude mountains
Wetland StadiumMarshy freshwater habitat

Arctic StadiumFrozen tundra with snow and ice
Ocean StadiumThe open marine arena

Matches

What decides a result

Matches are simulated from your team's combined attributes, your tactic against theirs, home biome advantage, team roles such as captain and set-piece takers, and the referee, who affects how often cards come out. Attacking tactics drain stamina 30% faster and defensive ones 30% slower, so plan your substitutions.

League matches can be drawn. Tournament matches cannot, and go to penalties. Friendlies do not award coins or count towards statistics.

Competitions and the market

Leagues, cups and transfers

Leagues award three points for a win and one for a draw, with promotion and relegation. Tournaments are knockouts with bigger prizes. Both pay coins, player XP and season pass XP, and coins buy players on the transfer market, where you can list your own for other managers to bid on.
